ANDREAS WALD
Andreas Wald, Sales Manager for Technical Solutions Austria and a TIPCHECK engineer, is one of our most experienced team members with over 28 years’ experience in the company. He is cheerful and passionate about his role, in particular he is amazed by the energy savings that using proper insulation can provide, and hopes that this will give technical insulation the recognition it deserves.
A man of many skills and hobbies he dedicates himself to his family, supporting Max Verstappen, his tractor and workshop, the forest, photography and singing, with his only problem being the lack of hours in the day to enjoy his wide variety of passions.
How did your story at Knauf Insulation begin?
In 1993 I started by Heraklith and was responsible for the production equipment, the mechanical engineering by Villas Austria that was a part of Heraklith at the time.
What do you love the most about the insulation?
It never stops to amaze me with it's energy saving...
How do you see the future of insulation business?
I hope that the technical insulation will get the importance it deserves. We have to work harder on understanding people in order to put technical insulation in the right light.
What is your favourite sport?
Definitely Formula 1. I am a supporter of Max Verstappen.
What did a Covid19 lockdown bring for you?
During the lockdown I focused more on my family and spent more time with my wife. I also rediscovered the nature to relax in green environment.
Where is your focus when not on insulation?
When not on the job, I dedicate myself to my family especially to my grandchildren and my hobbies. I have quite a few: tractor, forest, old-timer, workshop, photography, singing – but the day only has 24 hours.. »laughter«
What would you do if never started a career in insulation?
I would definitely work in automotive sector as a technician or engineer.
