Jonas van der Goot is a Sales Manager for Switzerland for the Technical Solutions division. He is a true team player who overcomes challenges with determination, experience and common sense. He says he loves his job in insulation because it’s about people: “It’s the people in the company and clients we work with that make it special.”

Although he dreamed of becoming a circus artist when he was a child, Jonas has found himself in insulation where he has amassed a vast knowledge of the industry and our products which he believes will be of great benefit for years to come.

He is a “two-wheel” man and loves skiing and spending time with his wife and kids.

How did your story at Knauf Insulation begin?

I applied for a job advertisement and the chemistry clicked.
My very first customer visit was about a complaint. I hardly had any knowledge about insulation and zero experience in handling complaints. I acted intuitively according to common sense. Today I probably have more knowledge about insulation and processes at KI but common sense remains essential.

How do you see the future of insulation business?

As long as we heat or cool, we will also need insulation materials.

What did a Covid19 lockdown bring for you?

I learned that professional communication has changed a lot and maybe permanently. I find it quite impressive how quickly and naturally we have found and adopted these new forms of communication.

Which sports do you love?

I like to be on two wheels. Being it with my bicycle or my motorbike. During winter I like skiing.

Who is your hero?

My wife and my kids – of course

What is your childhood dream?

I wanted to become a circus artist and if I never started a career in insulation, who knows, I just might have become one.
