The Knauf Insulation Fire-teK® DuctProtect EI60 R SYSTEM is a system that ensures the highest safety standards as an advanced passive structural fireproof protection solution, ideal for HVAC systems.
Together with appropriate fire containment, highly efficient fireproof insulation is necessary to prevent the spread of flames, heat and smoke to other areas in case of fire.
Ventilation systems, if left unprotected, can unintentionally contribute to the spread of fire, heat, and smoke. Fire-rated rectangular ducts are a critical solution, creating fire compartments within buildings to protect lives and assets. Only proven, reliable fireproof insulation should be used in these essential horizontal and vertical ducts.
Each component is carefully assessed for fire behavior, with a primary focus on the duration of fire resistance. The classification of fire resistance for ventilation systems adheres to the EN 13501-3 standard, ensuring your installations meet the highest industry requirements for fire safety and compliance.
APPLICATION:
Knauf Insulation Fire-teK® DuctProtect EI60 R SYSTEM has been developed for use on rectangular horizontal and vertical ventilation ducts where fire resistance of up to 60 minutes is of crucial importance.
In addition to protecting in the event of a fire, the Knauf Insulation Fire-teK® DuctProtect EI60 R SYSTEM also has excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties. Due to the dimensions of the insulation boards, the system can even be also used where space is at a premium.
The system provides guaranteed fire resistance of up to 60 minutes (if installed following the installation guidelines).
